I’ve spent a great deal of time these past six months reflecting on how to best honor Laura’s legacy. I’ve also done a considerable amount of inner reflection on how I can take my experience and turn it into something positive. I’ve been an Ad-man for over 20 years now, and while it was something I’ve enjoyed, I realized it was never fulfilling. It never had a purpose or served a higher calling.
At the end of the day, I want to look back and know that I made a difference. That difference is a non-profit organization that will specifically help families dealing with cancer.
After a considerable amount of soul searching, I realized I wanted to share my One great day with others. Everyone should have at least one great day, a day to bond with their family and cast aside their worries.
The mission of The December 5th Fund is to give back a day without worry, a day without the typical burdens that many take for granted. My organization will help families create memories that last a lifetime, long after the burden of cancer is gone. Whether it’s a day fishing while bonding over small talk, or an elaborate adventure throughout the city, my organization will make sure it’s nothing short of amazing. Meanwhile, as the family is enjoying their day, my team will have something special in place for them once they arrive home.
I’m not ready to share all of the details yet, but I can assure you that this will be an experience that no one will forget.
When the time comes, I hope you’ll join me to help make someone’s day.

Wow Tom!! Amazing move in your part. Sounds fulfilling and life giving in every way, and an incredible way to honor Laura and to make such a positive impact in her name. Well Jake’s in the football/golf/teaching business and I’m in the medical field if that can EVER come in handy to help make an amazing day happen. God bless your inspired new mission.
Tom,
What a great way to commemorate Laura. I am excited about this new chapter and journey you are on. While Laura is not beside your side I am confident that she is watching over you in full support.
My uncle who was close to me passed away a couple of years ago due to cancer. And now my mom has a progressive case of Parkinson’s Disease.
Let me know how I can help you.
